Preliminary Report Workflow
In the event you need to provide a preliminary STAT report nights or weekends, please follow the below protocol.
1. The report can be delivered the provider by you or the STAT support person at MRI front desk. The Critical Result team does not work nights and weekends.
2. Create a Critical Result entry for the reading. Put the details of the reading in the “Message to referring” section including the recipient. Front desk should give this to you. Check the box at the bottom “Acknowledged by referring” so it does not show up on a the critical result team’s worklist. Before submitting the critical result, copy the message to save time for the next step.
3. Create a hvra.net IM message documenting your critical result and who you spoke to. This can be pasted from step #2. Send the message the entire specialty team so they have it when it is read next day. If you have a specific person who you think should read the study (make sure they are working the next day), you can send just to that radiologist and assign study to her/him. Remember that the Sunday radiologist has flexibility and does not always read on Sunday.
